Privacy Policy

1. What data we collect

When you use CSNetWorth, we process the following information:

  • Steam ID lookups — We resolve Steam IDs, profile URLs, or usernames to public Steam profiles in order to fetch inventory data.
  • Cached inventory data — We temporarily store public inventory listings and calculated totals so repeat lookups are faster and shareable preview images can be generated. This cache is automatically aged out.
  • Optional Google account — Google provides a stable account identifier, email, and optional name/photo from authentication metadata. We request only basic openid, profile and email identity, not Gmail, Drive, contacts or advertising access. No extra profile or marketing data is collected.
  • Private saved profiles — If you sign in, we store up to three Steam profile identifiers, optional labels and creation dates. Only your authenticated account can read or change them.

2. Where prices come from

Item prices shown on CSNetWorth are cached reference prices based on the Steam Community Market. The cache is refreshed gradually, so some prices may be older than others. We are not a marketplace and do not process transactions.

3. Data we do not collect

We do not collect passwords, Steam API keys, payment information, or private inventory data. We only access public Steam profiles and inventories that users choose to look up.

4. Cookies and analytics

We use localStorage to remember your privacy choice. Optional analytics via Google Analytics 4 run only if you click “Accept analytics”. Until then, no Google Analytics script is loaded and no analytics cookies are set.

Optional sign-in uses necessary browser session storage to keep you signed in, and temporary sessionStorage to remember a safe return page. These are separate from analytics consent. Login never enables analytics or marketing.

  • If accepted, Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (such as _ga and _ga_*) to count visits and sessions.
  • We send page views with sanitized addresses (inventory pages are reported only as a generic “/inventory/profile”), the general type of search input (Steam ID, profile URL, or username), and whether an inventory loaded or failed with a broad error category.
  • We do not send Steam IDs, profile names or URLs, search text, inventory contents or values, avatars, names, email, auth user IDs, saved labels or OAuth codes/tokens.
  • Advertising storage, ad personalization, and Google signals are disabled. Google Analytics also collects technical data such as IP address (used by Google for approximate location), browser, and device type.
  • You can change or withdraw your choice anytime via the “Privacy settings” button on every page. Withdrawing stops further analytics and deletes the Google Analytics cookies on this site.

We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking.

5. Third-party services

We rely on the following third parties:

  • Steam / Valve — inventory data and Community Market prices are fetched from Valve's public APIs.
  • Lovable — hosts the CSNetWorth website and its backend services (including authentication and private saved-profile storage, provided through Lovable Cloud, which runs on Supabase infrastructure). Access to saved profiles is restricted to the authenticated owner.
  • GoDaddy — registrar and DNS provider for the csnetworth.com domain.
  • Google sign-in — processes your basic identity when you choose to sign in; this is separate from optional Google Analytics.
  • Google (Google Analytics) — only with your consent, as described above. Data is processed by Google LLC / Google Ireland Ltd and may be transferred to the United States. See Google's Privacy Policy.

6. Your data is not sold

CSNetWorth does not sell, rent, or trade personal data with third parties. We do not share collected data with advertisers or data brokers.

7. Security

All traffic is encrypted via HTTPS. We do not store Steam credentials, passwords, or trade secrets.

Account retention and deletion

Saved profiles remain until you remove them or delete your account. From Account you can download your basic account data and saved profiles, or permanently delete your account after explicit confirmation and recent Google authentication. Deletion removes the sign-in account and its saved profiles; it does not delete public Steam records or shared inventory/price caches. Signing out removes private account data from the browser's in-memory query cache. Hosting backups may retain historical data according to the hosting provider's backup lifecycle; deletion does not promise immediate erasure from backups.
