CS2 inventory not loading? How to fix it
· By the CSNetWorth team
When CSNetWorth cannot show an inventory, the message on screen tells you which of these cases it is. Each one has a different fix. CSNetWorth never asks for your Steam password, login code or API key — if anything does, do not enter it.
"This player's inventory is set to private."
Steam only returns inventory contents to outside tools when the profile's inventory visibility is public. The account owner can change it on Steam:
- Open the Steam profile privacy settings (signed in on Steam's own website or app).
- Set My profile to Public.
- Set Inventory to Public, and save if prompted.
- Wait a little and check again — Steam can take a short while to apply the change.
You can switch the inventory back to private afterwards if you prefer.
"Steam profile not found."
This usually means the identifier does not match a profile:
- A display name was entered instead of the vanity name. Display names are not unique; use the part after
/id/in the profile URL, or paste the whole URL. - The SteamID64 is not 17 digits or has a typo.
- The profile has no custom URL — then only the
/profiles/7656119XXXXXXXXXXform works.
Pasting the full URL copied from the browser address bar is the most reliable option.
"Steam is rate limiting us" or "Steam is unreachable"
Steam limits how often its public inventory endpoint can be called and sometimes has outages or maintenance. Neither is caused by your account. Wait a minute or two and try again. If CSNetWorth fetched the same inventory recently, it may show that cached copy while Steam is unavailable.
The inventory looks out of date
To avoid hitting Steam's limits, CSNetWorth keeps a fetched inventory for about 10 minutes. Items you just bought, traded or unboxed may appear after that window passes.
"This inventory appears to be empty." or items are missing
- The account may have no CS2 items. Items from other games are not shown.
- Items Steam marks as non-marketable are not included in the value.
Some items show "—" instead of a price
Prices come from a cache of Steam Market reference prices that is refreshed gradually. An item without a cached price is left out of the total rather than counted as $0, and the result page shows how many items are priced. See the methodology for details.
